Cedar Ridge Labs L.L.C. builds practical tools for childcare providers and families. Our work starts in a real home daycare in Fulton, Missouri — not a whiteboard.
Our story
Cedar Ridge Labs did not start as a startup idea on a napkin. It grew out of running Cedar Ridge Daycare, a family child care home in Fulton, Missouri — and hitting the same problem every small provider knows.
Parents wanted meaningful updates about meals, naps, and the little moments that make up a day. We wanted to give them that without spending the afternoon in group texts, or paying for center-scale software built for 200-child programs.
The tools on the market were either too heavy, too expensive, or too messy. What we needed was simpler: a digital daycare notebook — log the day in a few taps, parents get a calm timeline, and everyone moves on with their evening.
A Missouri-licensed family child care home begins daily operations. Real drop-offs, real meals, real naps — and the daily question of how to keep families connected without adding more busywork.
We start building the app we wished existed: quick care logging for staff, a parent timeline, push notifications, and an end-of-day summary built only from what was actually logged — no invented details.
Every feature is run through a full care day before it ships. Check-in, Quick Log, photos, medication doses, parent push — refined nightly with one question: what got in the way today?
We formalized the company to ship Littles Notebook properly — Android, iOS, and web — and to build additional tools as new needs emerge from our work in childcare and family services.
Our first product
Daily moments. Big memories.
A digital daycare notebook for licensed home providers. Staff log a child's day in a few taps. Linked parents follow a same-day timeline and receive a one-minute end-of-day note — without a stream of group texts or center-scale pricing.
Littles Notebook is being built at Cedar Ridge Daycare first. It is designed for small licensed homes — capacity around 6 to 12 children — not enterprise childcare suites.
Children never use the app. Staff log care. Parents join by invite and see only their own children. The evening email is a template narrative from structured events, not AI guesswork.
Not just an event stream — a polished end-of-day narrative built from what staff actually logged:
Emma had a great day! She arrived at 7:42 AM, enjoyed all of her breakfast and lunch, took a 1 hour 37 minute nap, spent time painting and building blocks, and had lots of outdoor play.
Template-based. No invented facts.
Where it started
Cedar Ridge Daycare and Cedar Ridge Labs share a name for a reason. The daycare is where we learn what providers actually need. The lab is where we turn those lessons into software other small homes can use.
We are not building for an imaginary workflow. We are building for busy mornings, tired afternoons, and parents who deserve to feel connected to their child's day — even when pickup is rushed.
Visit Cedar Ridge Daycare"We are not building software for an imaginary daycare. We are building it for the one we operate every day."
That difference shows up in every product decision — fewer features that look good in a demo, more that hold up during a real Tuesday.
How we build
Cedar Ridge Labs is small on purpose. We would rather ship one tool providers trust than a suite of features nobody asked for.
Every feature is tested against actual daycare workflows — drop-off, meals, rest, outdoor time, and pickup — not abstract user journeys.
Childcare is hands-on work. Our tools are designed to be quick to use between moments, not another system that slows the day down.
Parents should leave pickup knowing how the day went. We focus on updates that are useful, honest, and easy to read on a phone.
Photos stay in private storage. Parents join by invite. Sensitive records are audit-logged. Staff can enable MFA. Child data is treated as sensitive from day one.
About the company
Cedar Ridge Labs L.L.C. is an independent software company based in Fulton, Missouri. We are currently focused on Littles Notebook and building the foundation for additional products as new needs emerge from our work in childcare and family services.
We are not trying to be everything to everyone. We are building software we would want to use ourselves — and sharing it with other licensed home providers who care about doing right by the families they serve.
